SmartCare Child Care Management Software: A Year in Review


This past year has been quite exciting for SmartCare. Our team has grown, we tested a new product, and we officially launched a new company. Our child care management software solution changes the way child care centers operate on a day-to-day basis, making the lives of parents, teachers, and child care center owners and directors easier.

We began 2015 with beta testing at almost 100 child care centers across the country. Our team of five reps flew to Florida, California, Maine, and everywhere in between (read their tales from the road here: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6). They met with child care center staff and learned what their biggest pain points were and the best ways to solve them. The reps also met with over  1000 parents to learn about their daily routines.  The knowledge our team learned on the road helped our development team shape our software into the product we offer today.

Over the summer, our team continued visits and interviews with centers and parents when we officially started testing our beta product. Child care centers taught us the most efficient way to track sign-in and sign-out, plan out schedules,  and even helped us learn why going mobile was the best option for their center. We learned about remote access, billing plans, government assistance, and more. Each bug that was found or feedback that was offered, was put into a queue that our technology team then implemented into a better child care management system.

The biggest day of the year for SmartCare came in October when we launched at the Child Care Success Summit in Orlando. With an audience of 500, we unveiled the first live version of our product as well as features including text updates, parent daily reports, and our teacher app which had never been shown before. The response was inspiring and just what we needed before flying out to onboard our new clients.

The past two months have been nothing short of busy for our Customer Success Team with implementation visits scheduled almost every day. The team has flown out to centers in groups of 2-5 to help train parents, teachers, owners and directors in-person to ensure comfort with the apps and ease of use of our platform.

The SmartCare team is anxiously awaiting 2016 with new updates coming soon, including even more features. We know that we are on the right track and can’t wait to help every child care center take the step to becoming more connected in the new year.
