Although it’s July, it’s never too early to get ready for the rush of the back-to-school season. Older children will be going back to school, parents will be back to work, and day care centers will be full of young children ready to play. It’s important to have everything in line, working, and operating fully when this time of year comes around. You do not want to find yourself falling behind! Here are a few options that will get you geared up for the upcoming busy season:
Double Check. Ensure that your child care technology is working the way that it should. Make sure that the facility is up-to-date, clean, and has double checked everything with the state (inspections, licensing, etc.). Summer can serve as a good time to regroup and check on everything. It never hurts to double check!
Get Organized. Throughout the year, clutter builds up...it can happen to all of us! Be proactive and get organized so that when it comes time for heading back to school, you are ready to go. Getting organized could also entail catching up on finances. Is everything up-to-date with your child care billing? What about taxes? Are you on track for everything you’ll need at the end of the year? You never want to fall behind, which is why getting organized can make all the difference.
Team Check-In. Anytime is a good time really to check in with your staff to see how everyone is doing. Often times, employers don’t necessarily ask their team about their personal lives, including their mental and physical state. As a team, it is crucial to care for one another and be there if someone needs help. There can be times of immense stress, pressure, and exhaustion, but this is why working together as a unit can help with a successful child care.
Reach Out. Marketing is one of the operations that help a business expand and grow. It never hurts to reach out to your target audience via social media platforms, newsletters, emails, or advertisements. Spreading the word about your day care center will bring in new customers. Back to school can mean that parents are in need of a child care for their young children. The use of Facebook can serve as a helpful tool to reaching out to potential customers on the daily. Be the first child care center they are referred to by their peers--this is a telling sign that you have succeeded with your marketing strategy.
Software. Is your current software meeting your child care center’s needs? Are you looking for something more mobile? What about just upgrading your current desktop software? SmartCare and ChildCare Manager know that summer is a perfect time to start shopping around for a new software system for the upcoming school year. Want to learn more? Schedule a demo today!
