Social media is a topic we have covered many times on our blog, but today’s post is more specialized than previous posts. A question we are asked a lot is, when are the best times to post on Facebook? Well, let’s dive into this a little deeper. There are many articles on the internet about the best times to post on different social media accounts, but the most important thing to look into is your audience, because they may not follow the trends for other fields and industries. The easiest way to find this information is within your Insights tab on Facebook.
Once you click on Insights, you can see all of your posts and the engagement each one has had. It is important to test out posting at different times throughout the day to see which resonates most with your audience. Do most of your page views come in the morning before work? At lunch? Maybe after parents have put their kids to sleep? It is important to see when your audience reacts to your posts and then post at those times.
In the next image, you can see that if you click on Posts on the left-hand side of your screen, you can dive into the details for each post. You can see that our best day for posting is on Monday and our traffic is heaviest during 3-6pm PST. Knowing when your audience is online means there will be a better chance of your target audience viewing your post if you post when they are online. You want to make sure you are getting the most out of each post by having as many people see it as possible.
After reviewing the best days and times to post, it is also important to see what kind of posts are engaging your audience. Some audiences prefer photos, some prefer videos, and others interact most with links. By scrolling down on the same page, you can see the type of engagement each post is getting. This section also shows you how many people saw your post, clicked a link, or shared the post.
